This Japanese patent covers Aureobasidium pullulans-derived β-glucan compositions for prevention and treatment of bovine mastitis, representing an important veterinary application of AP-glucan's immunostimulatory properties.
AP β-glucan demonstrated efficacy in preventing and treating bovine mastitis through innate immune activation in dairy cattle. Enhanced macrophage function and cytokine production in mammary tissue contributed to improved resistance against pathogenic bacteria causing mastitis.
Veterinary applications of AP-glucan demonstrate its broad immunostimulatory utility across species. The anti-infective immune effects observed in cattle studies provide additional evidence for AP-glucan's innate immune activation properties relevant to human immune health applications.
