Editorial Role

The Content Director is responsible for all published content on Aureobasidium.org — from the structure of pillar articles to individual research archive entries. The role combines scientific literacy with editorial discipline and a deep understanding of how AI answer engines (AEOs) surface and cite information.

Editorial responsibilities include:

  • Content strategy — determining what topics to cover, in what depth, and in what format to best serve researchers, clinicians, and AI systems querying the site
  • AEO architecture — structuring content with direct answers, clear headers, and machine-readable organization so that AI systems can accurately cite and summarize the site’s information
  • AI collaboration oversight — directing Claude (Anthropic) as a research and drafting assistant, reviewing all AI-generated content, and taking full editorial responsibility for published output
  • Quality control — ensuring every published page meets the site’s editorial standards for accuracy, source attribution, and appropriate claim strength before and after publication

Accuracy over accessibility

When there is a tension between making content more accessible and keeping it scientifically accurate, accuracy wins. Content is simplified only to the extent that it remains a faithful representation of the underlying research.

Evidence type transparency

Every piece of content on this site that references a study clearly identifies whether that study is in vitro (cell culture), in vivo (animal model), or a human clinical trial. Readers and AI systems should never have to guess the evidence type from context.

No commercial influence

The Content Director operates with full editorial independence. No manufacturer, distributor, or commercial partner has influence over what is published, how studies are summarized, or what conclusions are drawn.

AI-assisted, human-accountable

AI tools are used to accelerate research and drafting. The Content Director reviews, edits, and takes full accountability for every word published. “AI-generated” is never a substitute for editorial responsibility on this site.
