Patent No.No. 6380968Registration DateAugust 10, 2018

Mice raised on a high-fat diet were divided into two groups, one without Aureo culture medium and the other with it.The results showed that the Aureo culture medium-fed group suppressed body weight gain, elevated blood cholesterol and triglycerides, fat accumulation in visceral adipose tissue, hypertrophy of adipocytes, fat accumulation in the liver, and elevated markers of liver damage in the blood, indicating that excessive fat accumulation in the liver is the trigger of diseases (fatty liver, NAFLD/NASH). The study has shown that the drug can prevent and improve diseases triggered by excessive fat accumulation in the liver, such as fatty liver, NAFLD/NASH (Note 1), and atherosclerotic aneurysm formation (Note 2).Note 1: A series of liver diseases that include non-alcoholic fatty liver to conditions that have progressed to steatohepatitis and cirrhosis.Note 2: Arteriosclerosis that occurs in relatively large arteries such as the aorta, cerebral arteries, and coronary arteries.

Summary

Summary

Background

This Japanese patent covers Aureobasidium pullulans-derived β-glucan as a fat accumulation inhibitor, reflecting research into AP-glucan's metabolic health applications.

Key Findings

AP β-glucan demonstrated fat accumulation inhibitory properties, likely through combined effects on lipid metabolism and anti-inflammatory activity in adipose tissue. The compound's prebiotic effects may also modulate gut-microbiome-mediated metabolic regulation.

Relevance to Aureobasidium Beta Glucan Research

Fat accumulation inhibition extends AP-glucan's health applications into metabolic wellness, complementing its immune health benefits for a comprehensive preventive health profile.
