Role & Responsibilities

The Scientific Reviewer provides independent oversight of all scientific content published on Aureobasidium.org. The role ensures that every factual claim accurately reflects the source study — and that the strength of evidence is never overstated.

The Scientific Reviewer’s responsibilities include:

  • Source verification — confirming that all cited studies are peer-reviewed, DOI-traceable, and accurately represented in the content
  • Claim strength assessment — ensuring that in vitro results are not presented as equivalent to human clinical evidence, and that study limitations are noted where relevant
  • Mechanistic accuracy — verifying that descriptions of immune mechanisms (Dectin-1 binding, NK cell activation, cytokine pathways) align with the current scientific consensus
  • Retraction monitoring — tracking any retractions or corrections to indexed studies and flagging content that requires update

Review Scope

Pillar Content Review

All primary educational pages — including What is Beta Glucan?, the FAQ, and topic-based research hubs — are reviewed before publication and re-reviewed quarterly. The Scientific Reviewer checks all source citations, mechanistic claims, and evidence summaries.

Research Archive Entries

Individual study entries in the Research Archive are reviewed for accurate metadata, correct DOI attribution, and faithful AI-generated summaries. The Scientific Reviewer spot-checks archive entries on a rolling basis and performs full reviews when new study batches are added.

Corrections & Updates

When errors are identified — whether by the internal team, readers, or through retraction notices — the Scientific Reviewer determines the appropriate correction and verifies that updated content is accurate before republication.

The Scientific Reviewer operates independently of any commercial interests. There is no financial relationship between the reviewer and any supplement manufacturer, distributor, or product vendor.
